Carelance was the main part of my bachelors thesis. I conceptualized and designed it to support freelance caregivers in their daily work with different patients and clients.

Regardless of the corona pandemic, there's a nursing crisis in germany. This is due to an ageing population on the one hand and poor working conditions in the care sector on the other hand. Caregivers are already working at full capacity and are additionally challenged with administrative work like time tracking, accounting and the preparation of contracts. Therefore they need a software that relieves them of most of these administrative tasks, making the daily work easier and providing the caregivers more time for the patients or regeneration.
The main goal was to make work easier for freelance caregivers. After consulting with the target group, I focused on the three following features: preparation of contracts, time tracking and billing. These are the most important requirements when it comes to functionality. Based on the conversations, I created various user stories that focused on the main functions and their added value.
In addition to the functional requirements, I focused on some design requirements that result from the target group. Since nursing staff are not always particularly tech-savvy or do not have time to deal with technical aspects in addition to their actual work, the application should be very simple, clean and easy to learn. I implemented current design trends by using white space, soft shapes and pastel colors to achieve a professionell yet approachable look adapted to the target group.
